AS the last Covid restrictions are finally relaxed, Age Concern Petersfield in Winton House on the High Street is resuming a full programme of pre-pandemic activities.
During the lockdowns, the charity combined with Churcher’s College catering team to deliver meals to the elderly – but now things are returning to normal.
Charity spokesman Sheridan Rocher said: “We held a ‘lockdown breaker’ afternoon tea for anyone a bit nervous about getting out and about again.
“It was lovely for us all to see each other again, and we are restarting services that halted during lockdown.”
The lunch club that was replaced with the meal deliveries is now re-opening from August 31, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from midday at the Community Centre in Love Lane. Cost is £5 for a two-course meal and transport can be arranged.
The Wednesday morning door-to-door minibus from passengers’ homes to town is restarting at a cost of £2, and IT coaching is face-to-face again, with a six-week course from Thursday, September 9, at Winton House, costing £30.
The ever-popular outings have resumed and The Help at Home and Check in and Chat telephone befriending services continue as usual.
