Propeller’s all-male cast brings Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice to Olivier Theatre at Bedales in Steep on Tuesday, September 15 at 7.30pm.

This uncompromising tale of greed and revenge reveals Bassanio, in love with Portia, imprisoned in a bargain with a ruthless moneylender. A pound of flesh is sought in payment, and time is fast running out to untangle the trap of his own making.

After a gripping hour audience members are invited into the performance space to question the actors about the play, acting, and Shakespeare.

The performance is suitable for 11 to 80 years plus. The running time is one hour, plus a 40-minute talkback.
