A?DRONE, coloured boards and enthusiastic dogs combined to bring much fun and laughter to a village get-together.

The highlight of the Sheet Community Day was the creation of shapes such as butterflies by children and parents holding the coloured boards on their heads and being photographed from above.

Vibrant overhead images were achieved by a drone owned by resident Will Glancy.

Parish councillor Brian Bird was the master of ceremonies and marshalled everyone into their positions –?with a few dogs eager to join in.

They weren’t supposed to be part of the picture but it all added to the general hilarity, and everyone enjoyed taking part in the afternoon’s entertainment.

The turn-out for this first-time event on Millennium Meadow was excellent, with more than 90 villagers keen to join in.

Organisers were very lucky with the weather too as the sun shone for all the festivities.

The barbecue was a roaring success, with residents queuing for tasty food throughout the afternoon.

“All in all, the event was a huge success,” said one of the organisers
