TRIUMPHANT blasts from the trumpet and saxophone accompanied a cheque presentation for The Rosemary Foundation at a jazz and dinner evening in the beautiful garden of Nyewood House in Rogate.
The event was organised by the Harting and Rogate branch of the Chichester Conservative Association, which has a newly elected Member of Parliament in Gillian Keegan, to boost its coffers and to raise cash for the hospice-at-home charity.
The cheque for £1,000, donated anonymously, was presented by branch members to foundation founder Barbara Pettegree.
Barbara may decide to retire later this year after many years service as a nurse. She set up The Rosemary Foundation 20 years ago when the Sue Ryder Home closed. With her to receive the cheque was Sabine Baines-Walker from Harting, a volunteer supporter of the charity almost from its inception.
