LEARN about Roman life on Toga Tuesdays throughout August at Butser Ancient Farm.
There will be the chance to find out more about our ancient ancestor’s cookery, costumes, weapons, domestic chores, technology and engineering.
Children will also have the chance to take part in a production of Julius Caesar on Tuesday, August 15, with local theatre group Faye’s Fables.
The Roman summer on the farm will finish with a Glorious Games and Gladiators day on Monday, August 28.
Among other highlights, visitors will be able to cheer on a Roman gladiator fight.
Creative youngsters are invited to enter an art and poetry competition too, inspired by the theme ‘Roman Life’.
This will be judged by best-selling Roman Mysteries author Caroline Lawrence.
The deadline for entries for the competition is Friday, August 25.
All events will run from 10am to 5pm.
