ALTON residents have another chance to have their say on the future of the Molson Coors site at an event next week.
Following the consultation in December, which saw more than 200 local residents take part, detailed options have been drawn up.
Each option presents a different possible use for this key site in the centre of the town.
The event will be held at the Alton Assembly Rooms, on Wednesday 2 March, between 5-8pm.
The results of December’s consultation revealed that residents were keen to see it used for affordable homes, while others were keen for it to be put to community use.
Since then East Hampshire District Council, Molson Coors and consultants Aecom have been working hard to use this information and create realistic options for the future of the land.
As a result of the success of December’s consultation this additional event has been arranged to give residents an opportunity to look and respond to more detailed plans.
Cllr Angela Glass, Portfolio Holder for Planning, said: “This is your chance to have your say on the future of the site.
“Our first consultation was very broad but we are now getting a much clearer idea of how residents would like to see the site used.
“We have narrowed the process down to a few very exciting options and I would encourage everyone in Alton to come along next week and get involved.”
