THOUSANDS of pounds were raised at a popular annual school fete.

Sheet Primary School’s Summer Fete, which was organised by the school’s parent teacher association (PTA), the Friends of Sheet School (FOSS), raised £3,400.

There were plenty of activities including a human fruit machine, a coconut shy, an inflatable slide, a beauty bar, pirate games, a tug of war and egg throwing.

There was also live music playing throughout the day from The Petersfield School Band as well as from pupils at the school.

Gill Burford is the finance manager at the school. She said: “It was wonderful. We had a great turnout.

“The weather was fabulous. We had a barbecue and a beer tent. The children love helping with the stalls.

“The funds raised give us money to put towards things like school trips and extra equipment for the playground.”
