PETERSFIELD councillors have stuck it to paddle boarders as the practice will not be permitted on the Heath Pond.

Town councillors were asked to review and consider the policy for paddle boarding last Thursday following an approach.

But after some debate, the Grounds Committee voted three to one against allowing the practice on the pond due to concerns about safety, with only Jamie Matthews supporting the move.

“I don’t think it should happen,” said Councillor James Deane, before adding: “You are more at risk at falling in the water on a paddle board than you are in a canoe.”
