Art lovers can have fun guessing whether works are by students or professionals in the UCA Stretched anonymous exhibition and auction.

The title is a clue to the works on display – each piece was created on a perfectly-stretched six-inch square canvas from art supplies company Winsor & Newton, which is sponsoring the event with The Fine Art Collective.

Professionals donated 29 pieces to hang with works by first-year and second-year BA fine art students from UCA Farnham for public viewing at the college’s Linear Gallery in Falkner Road, Farnham. The event raises cash for students’ end-of-year shows in London.

Lots can also be seen at

@ucastretched; online bids can be made until 5pm on Monday by emailing your name, phone number, email address and postal address to [email protected] to register.

The event climaxes with a live silent auction at the gallery on Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm. Successful online or live bidders will be notified afterwards and their art will be posted following payment.
