AFTER a decade of providing homes, the group that builds and manages affordable housing in Petersfield has set out it’s agenda for the next ten years.

Radian Housing Association has 21,000 houses, mainly affordable ones, and it’s East Hampshire branch Drum Housing is in The Spain.

Since it was formed in 2006, the association has built 4,000 new homes, and says it aims to build at least 2,000 in the next ten years.

Setting out its commitments for the future, Radian chief executive Lindsay Todd said: “Since 2006, the demand for homes has increased dramatically, as the supply hasn’t kept up with the population growth.

“We are responding energetically to increase supply, building quality homes for rent and sale, as well as investing in services which help people find work and manage their income to give them the best opportunity to have a secure home, and play a positive part in their community.”

Radian recently helped its 500th resident to find work through its employment, support and training programme, and since 2012, 512 people have been supported into employment and 1,629 into training.

And it says more than 15,000 hours of work experience has been delivered for young people looking to move into employment

Lindsay added: “We have also launched SMART, a significant venture into the private rental sector which provides a positive new experience of renting, and we have started to build homes through our Radian Build construction team, and run the HelptoBuy South agency which assists about 4,000 people a year into home purchase.

“Our focus now is to extend our reach by building more homes of all tenures, working in successful partnerships which support our vision of mixed and vibrant communities.

“We will continue to find ways of delivering the services customers want which are efficient and accessible so that a Radian home is a place that people value.”
