AUTHOR Bill Bryson has called on people to join the Campaign for National Parks charity to help protect “our sensationally attractive, vibrant, lived in and real national parks”. The charity has campaigned successfully to get areas like the South Downs designated as national parks, but now the author says the parks face a growing threat from developments such as reservoirs, quarries, and suburbanisation.
