THERE will be plenty for children to do over the half term at Gilbert White and The Oates Collections with a selection of autumnal workshops.

Visitors to the Selborne museum will be challenged to bring their own sketchpads and sketch what they see from Saturday, October 21 until Sunday, October 29.

On Tuesday, October 24, people can enjoy crafts with autumn leaves from 11am-2pm. Both the sketching and leafy craft sessions are free with the normal admission rate to the museum.

Inspired by Gilbert White’s writing and love of nature, there will be an animation workshop, working with the team from Strong Island media. This is suitable for people aged five and up, booking is essential as places are limited.

Enjoy cooking dampers and marshmallows in the fire, then settle down to listen to tales from story teller Bluebird who will be flying by Gilbert White’s house on October 26.

The last event of the half term period is the annual Autumn Sleepover at the Field Studies Centre, on Friday October 27. With a variety of nature-themed activities, including broomstick making, campfire cooking and night time nature walk.
