IT MIGHT not be the weather for it at the moment, but a new communal barbecue has been installed on the edge of the clearing on Sheet Common. Sheet Parish Council hopes it will be used for family picnics and small social get-togethers. It is free to use on a first-come, first-served basis. It was made by blacksmith Michael Standton of Fraught Wrought at Steep Marsh. Pictured are parish councillor Alan Biddlecombe, who managed the project, blacksmith Michael Standton, and parish councillor Tony Clear, who maintains the common, on the old A3 Petersfield to London road.
