IN RECOGNITION of the fundraising efforts by the Great South Run team from Bedales, Basil Eastwood, joint founder of the charity Cecily’s Fund, attended the school for the annual Cecilia Concert.
Thirty-four runners took part in the Great South Run raising more than £8,000 for Cecily’s Fund and the John Badley Foundation. During a break from the music, Basil took the opportunity to update the audience on the impressive work of Cecily’s Fund in helping thousands of children in Zambia to attend secondary school, and to train young people as community and health workers.
He then presented the three youngest runners with a certificate of thanks for the team’s fundraising efforts.
