PETERSFIELD singing star Michael Auger is “overwhelmed” that his musical theatre band Collabro has been voted the best ever winners of TV’s Britain’s Got Talent.
More than 140,000 viewers of ITV’s Good Morning Britain voted for their favourite act over a decade of the hugely popular show which has just hit our screens again for another series.
Collabro came top of the nine winners so far, with dance troupe Diversity second and performing dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey third.
Michael, who has just completed a sell-out nationwide tour with Collabro, said: “It’s overwhelming to know that out of a decade of winners on such a huge television show, we were voted the best winners yet! We have the best fans in the world and we are so grateful to everyone who voted. Thank you!”
Collabro won the show in 2014 and since then it has been a whirlwind for Michael, a former pupil of Churcher’s College, and his bandmates, with support from their fans – the Collaborators – showing no sign of easing up.
Michael appeared on Good Morning Britain with Collabro days after their tour finished in Guildford on April 3 to chat about the success the show has brought them.
