A PUPIL at Horndean Junior School has followed up his Harvest Festival good deed with a similar effort for Christmas.

Thomas Hall, who collected 16 bags of shopping for Horndean Foodbank as part of the school’s harvest celebrations, gave 16 of the 181 boxes the school collected in its Christmas Shoebox Appeal by asking friends and family for donations.

His mother Hayley said: “I’m extremely proud to say that’s 16 more children who will receive a shoebox this year thanks to Thomas’ charitable spirit and hard work. The boxes contained hats, gloves, toothbrush and toothpaste, along with colouring books and crayons, and a couple of toys.”
