THIEVES ruined a youngster’s Christmas after stealing his bike which is worth around £400.

Logan Bugh-Brown became the victim of cycle crime for the second time in a year when his bike was stolen some time on Thursday, December 20.

The Specialized bike, which was stolen from a shed, was bought during the summer after a crowdfunding appeal raised £400.

The 14-year-old from Penns Road, who delivers newspapers for WHSmith, discovered the theft when he went down to the shed early on Friday, December 21, to do his paper round.

The shed door was open, the padlock was on the ground and his bike was gone, according to his disappointed mum Tanya Bugh. “He was very frightened,” said the 35-year-old.

“He gets up early before everyone else to do his paper round before school.

“He went out in the dark on his own and realised the shed door was open and the padlock was on the floor. He was too scared to look in the shed in case there was somebody in there.

“I think we have been targeted. I think somebody was walking past when Logan was putting it in the shed.

“They definitely came out that night to come to our shed with tools.”

Tanya has shared photographs of the bike on various selling sites in a bid to try to track down the bike but hasn’t had any luck yet.

“It’s so annoying,” she added.

“We have just had to buy him a new one and put it on the credit card which isn’t what we needed at Christmas, but he needs it for his job.”

Anyone with information about the theft should call the police on 101 quoting reference 44180472886.
