AFTER five months of failing to hit their bin emptying targets, contractors Biffa have put in place measures to try to ensure household wheelies bins get emptied on schedule.
East Hampshire district councillor Cllr Richard Millard said: “We were unhappy with Biffa’s performance over the last few months and we made this clear to them.
“Since then we have seen a marked improvement in the service provided.
“They have a submitted a recovery plan, which they are working through, and the number of uncollected bins has gone down.
“They have put a new local manager in place, who is doing very well.”
Biffa will report back to the joint committee on September 23.
