PETERSFIELD ornithologists involved in the biggest ever UK bird survey say it has proved invaluable.

Robin Hart and Matthew Shaft were two of the 40,000 volunteers who conducted field research for the British Trust of Ornithologists' Bird Atlas.

Robin, of The Spain, said: "The more information we have, the better we can conserve the bird population."
