A BOOK is to be published later this year to mark the 70th anniversary of The Petersfield Society.

Society members hope the book will be a celebration of the town's historic character, as well as its urban and rural environments, social and recreational activities and an account of contemporary events in the town.

The society was formed in 1945 and its aim is to safeguard and improve the environmental quality of life in Petersfield.

The book being proposed is a comprehensive summary of everything the town has to offer residents and visitors in 2014. It will be lavishly illustrated and the hardback book will be out in time for Christmas.
