THERE’S been another fatality on the old A3 as a Bordon man died this morning following a collision south of Liphook.

The 45-year-old died after his silver Mercedes struck the Portsmouth Road railway bridge on the B2070 around 11.25am.

The victim died at the scene while no other vehicles were involved according to Hampshire Police.

Fire crews from Liphook and Bordon were called while teams from South Central Ambulance and the Hampshire & IoW Air Ambulance also attended. The road was closed for much of the day to allow investigations.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage from motorists who may have been in the area at the time.

The fatality is the second to take place on the road between Liphook and Rake within a month as a Liss man died in early December following a collision around a mile south.
