POLICE believe that a 16-year-old boy who was stabbed on Sunday (July 29) in Liss was deliberately targeted.
Investigations are continuing into the shocking event in Yorkwood which left the victim needing emergency treatment.
A motive has not been given while the victim, who the police have confirmed is local, is now in a stable condition.
A 16-year-old boy from Portsmouth who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed to appear at a Hampshire police station later this month.
Youngsters in the village who have been affected by the incident have been offered support by the Crossover Youth Centre.
“We are obviously shocked about this terrible incident occurring in our village and hope the victim makes a good recovery,” said a spokeswoman for the organisation.
“We understand that this may have scared and shocked local young people.
“We’re here to chat to about to about any concerns and worries.”
