People can learn more about the bid to make Petersfield “a greener place for everyone” during a special event at the Avenue Pavilion next weekend.

There’s two great reasons to check out the Greening Event and Community Planting Day from 10am to 2pm next Saturday, January 17.

The pavilion will be the distribution point for trees ordered through the town council’s Free Tree Scheme and the PeCAN Fruit Tree in Every Garden Scheme.

But visitors will also get the chance to meet the new town ranger, tree wardens, members of PeCAN and the community garden.

They can also learn about upcoming events, volunteering opportunities and how people are coming together to make the town greener at the event, with visitors encouraged to wear sensible footwear.
