TWO?BELOVED ballet classics presented by the Russian State Ballet and Opera House are being staged at the King’s Theatre in Southsea.

The Nutcracker, a perennial Christmas classic, can be seen on Friday, October 21, at 7.30pm, and Swan Lake, the compelling legend of tragic romance, is on Saturday, October 22, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

The Nutcracker continues to capture the hearts and imagination of audiences as a truly captivating piece of theatre.

It is a wonderful introduction to ballet too, to those who have never before experienced it.

Its magical ingredients include sweets, snow flurries, princes, love, victories and defeats, and Tchaikovsky’s rousing score.

Swan Lake is arguably one of the most loved ballets, with its instantly recognisable and timeless score, which includes the iconic Dance des Petits Cygnes (Dance of Little Swans).

From the splendour of the palace ballroom to the moonlit lake where swans glide in perfect formation, the romantic and beautiful Swan Lake has it all.

The Russian State Ballet and?Opera House bring the passion and vibrancy of these stories to the stage, never failing to enchant audiences.
