THE CHILDREN at Liss Infant School are very excited about the gardening projects they have planned for this term, thanks to support from East Hampshire District Council and donations from garden centres.
Earlier this year the school was awarded a grant of £750 from East Hampshire district councillor for Liss Mike Kendall to buy raised beds and gardening equipment for children in the Reception and Year 1 classes and a tonne of top soil has been donated by Aeropark Developments in Southampton.
Staff at Hillier’s in Liss met three gardeners from Koalas class when they visited the garden centre to collect the donations of seeds, compost, flowers and strawberry plants.
Families of children at the school have contributed a variety of plants and seeds to support the gardening project.
