Petersfield Cobbler, Steve White, has been recognised for his support of the volunteer Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR) service.

He has raised more than £1,000 from customers through a donations tin in his Chapel Street shop.

A HANTSAR spokesman thanked Steve for his support and praised the generosity of his customers.

In May a HANTSAR team is attempting a 100k fundraising walk through the Pyrenees.

One training walk began in Petersfield so Steve could be presented with a certificate of appreciation. To sponsor the team email [email protected]
