RESEARCH shows the South Central region around the M27 motorway has grown and will grow more than the UK average.

Savills research experts made the revelation at the latest Regenerate South event. In the last five years the region has experienced 14 per cent economic growth, compared with a UK average of 11 per cent.

The region, from Bournemouth to Chichester and Farnborough to the Isle of Wight, combines prime coastal locations and excellent quality of life, with affordable employment space and easy access to London and the rest of the UK.

Research associate at Savills Dr Lucy Greenwood said: “Due to its prime coastal locations and expanding technology sector, the region is forecast to continue to achieve higher growth than the UK average.

“However, public sector support and industry collaboration is needed to help development succeed, making the work of Regenerate South invaluable.”
