THE ROYAL Anchor in Liphook has thrown its doors open to showcase the pub’s new look following a six-figure makeover which created ten jobs.

The venue has been refurbished throughout and boasts an improved bar area, with better viewing facilities to host the latest sporting events.

The revamped venue on The Square re-opened on November 7, where the celebrations began and continued throughout the week, with a quiz night on November 8, and 1980s fancy dress on November 10.

The Royal Anchor team also welcomed Whitehill Town Council Mayor Cllr Leslie Webber to try out the new facilities.

The Royal Anchor is equipped with Sky Sports, allowing sports fans to watch the games on multiple screens.

The bar area has also been enhanced with the addition of contemporary tiling and an improved drinks range. Guests can also enjoy drinks in the extended beer garden which features additional seating and new outdoor lighting.

Royal Anchor general manager Richard Hand said: “We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating the re-opening and our Liphook neighbours really came out to support us. Our guests are at the heart of what we do, so it was great to be able to mark the re-opening with the local community.

“It was a pleasure to welcome Mayor of Whitehill Town Council, Cllr Leslie Webber, to enjoy the new offering too – she really helped to kick off the festivities.

“We’ve already had great feedback on the revamped bar and the sports viewing areas, with many guests planning their next visit around the upcoming matches.

“The team and I can’t wait to welcome new and returning visitors to the Royal Anchor very soon.”
