A GROUP of owners of small businesses got the opportunity to ask questions of their MP at a networking event held in the Triangle Centre in Liss.

After giving a short talk, East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds answered questions on his expectations for Brexit negotiations, and gave advice on support opportunities available to local businesses.

Afterwards, the group of around 20 people introduced their services and products and networked over coffee.

The event was held on September 20, and was the relaunch of the Liss Connected group.

Gerry O’Neill, whose business, Petersfield Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic, is now based in Liss, said: “I think it’s a wonderful opportunity to get to know all the other businesses in Liss, to find out what else is happening, and to promote your business.

“I can post special offers and health and wellness advice to the Facebook group.”

Mr Hinds, who is Minister for Employment, said: “Liss Connected is a great initiative, bringing together a wide variety of businesses in the village.

“It is a good networking forum for local businesses and I enjoyed the chance to talk about business opportunities, local, national and international.

“I hope more local businesses may have the opportunity to look at Liss Connected and get involved.”

Liss Connected is a group dedicated to business owners and managers based in Liss, or who live in the village. The group meets every two months at the Triangle Centre in Liss. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 15. The group aims to support business and encourage the community to buy local.
