The Thomas Lord pub in West Meon has been awarded a Michelin Plate – one of only seven eateries in Hampshire to receive the honour for its dining experience from the Michelin Guide.

The guide’s anonymous testers recognise restaurants offering quality ingredients, skilled chefs, value and consistency.

Head chef Fran Joyce said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this accolade. We’re a very close-knit team and we’ve really pulled together to ensure we deliver a warm welcome, a comfortable stay and a real culinary treat.

“It’s about choosing quality produce and creating a range of dishes that please a variety of diners and keep our locals coming back for more. Thank you to every member of our team, our quality local producers who keep our larders stocked, the Michelin team for recognising our hard work and, of course, our loyal customers.”
