THE POST Office is to open a modernised “main-style” branch at the Liss Post Office at Tesco Express in Hill Brow Road.

The modernised branch will open at 1pm on Monday, September 26.

Post Office services will be provided from two modern counters. There will be an open-plan counter and another open-plan area integrated into the retail counter.

Opening hours will be Monday to Saturday from 8.30am to 7pm and Sundays from 9am to 7pm.

This will be an extra 27 hours a week of Post Office service including all day Sunday and Saturday afternoon.

The branch will open earlier and close significantly later each day.

Local communications manager Jo Chapman said: “We’re always looking for ways to make life easier for our customers. Making Post Office services available for longer opening hours supports an important community service.”

The branch will be closed for refurbishment on Thursday, September 8, at 5.30pm for the work to be carried out. Alternative branches include Petersfield Post Office and Rogate Post Office.

A selection of on-demand foreign currencies will be added to the wide range of Post Office products and services already available at the Liss branch.

Post Office area manager Adrian Skinner said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.
