BURITON Parish Council vice chairman and member of St Mary’s Church in Buriton Maggie Johnston was firm in her belief the premises licence held by Bob Camping for the Manor Barn venue in the village should be revoked.

She said revoking it was the best result East Hampshire District Council’s licensing sub-committee could have delivered. She added: “I would not wish to see people put out of business, but I understand the licence holder has already intimated his intent to sell the property.

“I supported the call for revocation on the grounds that all four of the licensing objectives were not being met.

“In light of the total disregard of the conditions already applied to this licence, it was only a matter of time before there was an unpleasant, possibly violent, incident, given the strong feelings about the breaches.”
