THE ANNUAL ‘Bygone Buriton’ exhibition will continue gathering information about life in the village during the First World War.
Displays in the village hall on Saturday, September 23, from 11am to 4pm will also cover hop picking in fields around the village, the Butser and Buriton lime works, and how leisure activities have changed – from rabbit and pheasant shoots to football and cricket.
Also documented will be the build up to D-Day in the Second World War in the village, the history of Buriton school, the evolution of local farming and the local flora and fauna.
Exhibition spokesman Doug Jones said: “Copies of all our local history books will be available on the day, including the most recent publications, as will the Bygone Buriton Calendar for 2018.”
