PEOPLE who follow a trail of 38 silent soldiers around the parish of Buriton could win an experience day at Meon Springs for uncovering the identity of a missing Serviceman.

Each silhouette represents a villager who died in the First World War but the war memorial has 38 names while the Roll of Honour in St Mary’s has 39.

Participants can find the missing man by comparing lists while they also need to provide the average age of the village’s fallen by adding up all their ages and dividing it by 39.

The trail includes Weston and entry is £3. Forms should be left in a box in the church by December 8.
