THE FIRST in a series of free lipreading classes will take place this Wednesday in a Petersfield house.
The classes that will take place in Burgesmede House between 2pm and 4pm every Wednesday are being provided by the Association of Teachers of Lipreading to Adults (ATLA).
The classes not only help people with hearing difficulties or deafness, but also act as a support group.
“We would love for more awareness to be given to lipreading classes, which are free in Petersfield, and the fact that hearing loss doesn’t only affect older people,” said a spokeswoman for ATLA.
“The charity aims to make lipreading classes free and is working to help people with hearing loss to manage their lives in a hearing world.”
