A south of Butser group is rallying for Rowans Hospice as they’ve handed a £1,276 cheque to good cause.
The Catherington WI is well into a year of fundraising for the Pubrook charity with sales, competitions and donations swelling the coffers under the guidance of members Linda Piggott and Lynne Driver.
The recent cheque was the second of the year to be handed over to the charity with the next fundraising being a sale and tombola stall at a Christmas Fair at the Clanfield Community Centre on November 7.
The Rowans provides free dedicated palliative and end of life care to people from all over south-east Hampshire.
But it costs £7.8 million a year to deliver their services and they rely on voluntary donations to cover as much as 78 per cent of their costs, visit www.rowanshospice.co.uk for more details.
