The children and staff of Triangle After-School Club in Liss welcomed author Ruth Burgess to their recent meeting.

They enjoyed an enthralling workshop of readings and drama linked to her new book Jill’s Rocket Adventure.

Club manager Sandy Turner said: “Ruth’s visit was a treat to help celebrate our 25th anniversary, which had been put on hold in September because of the death of Her Majesty the Queen.”

The not-for-profit club was launched in September 1997 to serve working parents in the village by Liss Community Association, and is an electronic- free zone which encourages children to socialise.

A variety of activities are on offer including the creation of artwork, which is displayed throughout the Triangle Centre.
