IN WHAT promises to be its most spectacular concert yet, The Petersfield Choir presents a stunning array of audience-pleasing music at a concert at St Peter’s Church.
The programme for the concert on Saturday, November 19, at 7.30pm, includes Bach’s glorious Magnificat, an extravagant baroque masterpiece for choir and soloists.
This will feature four professional soloists and is accompanied by the SouthDowns Camerata, augmented by organ, flutes, oboes, trumpets and timpani.
To complement this, the choir and orchestra will perform extracts from Bach’s mass in B minor, which is widely regarded as one of the supreme achievements of classical music.
Mozart’s Regina Coeli, a boisterous homage to the Queen of Heaven, and three well-known orchestral miniatures by Handel, can also be looked forward to.
The choir hopes that there will be younger audience members too, who will be inspired by the singing and music.
There is no admission charge.
