CHURCHER’S College Junior School and Nursery hosted the launch of the Reading Fairy programme for its latest Parent Time event.
Parents of pre-schoolers were welcomed to the sell-out event by the head of the junior school and nursery, Ffion Robinson.
This was followed by Angela Kennedy, owner and class leader for Baby Sensory Haslemere, who talked about the importance of books and stories from a young age and how they can benefit a child’s learning and development for life.
Angela, a former teacher, engaged the audience for over an hour with research, expertise, inter-active exercises, advice and tips.
The opportunity to discuss and ask questions was offered over homemade cake and a cup of tea.
Angela said: “This wonderful school was the perfect setting for our Reading Fairy launch, the parents thoroughly enjoyed the event, not to mention looking around the fabulous nursery and the delicious homemade cake.”
“The importance of reading and books is a subject close to my heart,” said Ffion.
“Sharing a love of stories and books develops the imagination and enables children to go anywhere and do anything.”
