CHURCHER’S College Junior School, at Liphook, celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday in style.

Pupils at the Liphook school made cakes that were fit for the Queen and were able to raise money for a charity in Petersfield in the process.

The children at Churcher’s College Junior School take charity very seriously and each term the school council organises fundraisers for the charities the children select.

The school council was thrilled to raise £432 for The King’s Arms charity in Petersfield.

They have supported this charity this term as the children were keen to raise money to help other local children who are young carers and face many challenges in their lives.

The pupils arranged a cake competition on the theme of a ‘Cake Fit For The Queen’ and invited Miranda Gore Browne – who was a finalist on The Great British Bake Off – to judge the competition.

Miranda was very impressed with the standard of the cakes and said that she found judging them surprisingly challenging.

The children donated money to enter their cakes in the competition, and after a fabulous tea party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, they sold the remaining cakes.
