DESPITE being shut because of coronavirus restrictions East Hampshire and West Sussex churches still celebrated Easter.
In a first of its kind, the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby led Easter Sunday worship in a national online service, and many local churches, like St Peter’s in Petersfield, followed suit, or organised their own form of ’social distancing’ Easter worship.
At St Mary and St Gabriel church in Harting, a floral cross (pictured) was placed on the steps outside the churchyard gate.
