Liphook United Football Club raised more than £1,000 in May with their wheelbarrow of booze raffle.

Treasurer Jules Upton said: “We are so pleased to have raised this amount of money for our club.

“It’s a great way to end our football calendar year where we haven’t been able to play football as much as we would have liked or get together as a community.”

The club would like to thank all those who donated a bottle, plus Altis for the wheelbarrow, Trotton Estate Vineyards, The General Wine Company, Hogmoor Distillery and Liphook Co-op.

The first prize winner was Clare Bond, whose son Dylan plays for Liphook’s under-11 Leopards team.
