THE GOLDEN age of motoring was revisited on Sunday when a classic car show and autojumble returned to a field off the A3.
Around 4,000 people took a trip down memory lane when the South Hants Vehicle Preservation Society held the show at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
The event – which featured more than 350 classic cars, vintage vehicles and motorbikes from the 1900s onwards – was possibly the biggest yet with a record number of stalls.
The overflow car park, marshalled by Royal Air Force Cadets, also filled up early while the ‘sold out’ signs appeared outside the ice cream and pizza vendors.
“We were a bit overwhelmed with all the cars coming but the actual show went really well,” said society member Barrie Atkinson.
“There was a lot of good feedback from paying customers and we had the biggest number of autojumble stalls, too.”
