A COACH fire on the southbound carriageway of the A3 near Liphook led to travel chaos.

The coach was evacuated before firefighters attended the scene and dealt with the blaze on September 6.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “We were called at 4.24pm and we left the scene at 5.48pm.

“Four engines were called to attend the coach fire.

“The crews included firefighters from Liphook, Grayshott, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and a water carrier from Bordon.

“Four hose reel jets, two main jets and eight sets of breathing apparatus were used.

“Heavy traffic delays were caused by the incident on the A3 between Grayshott and Liphook.”
