THE ORIGINAL MC of Petersfield Comedy Club will return to The Folly next Monday to open the 2019 season.
Fans will be treated to a homecoming of sorts as Geoff Whiting, a veteran of the comedy circuit who gave Jimmy Carr his first gig, will start the show as the opening act.
They may also recognise the middle act as comedian, actor and writer Gareth Berlinner recently appeared on Coronation Street as Macca.
A storyteller extraordinaire, Gareth has more soul than most and has led a life full of controversy and challenges but has always managed to come out on top and laughing.
Closing the show is Paul Pirie, a brilliant natural comedian who is full of energy and uses every ounce to maximum effect. With a set that jumps from bitchy to silly, you’re never more than a line away from a great pun or a well-crafted punch line, delivered with a ferocity that makes Paul’s humble beginnings on the Scottish circuit seem such a long time ago.
It’s been many years since Paul performed for the club, when it was just the open spot. Now he returns as the headliner and it’s going to be a real pleasure to see him.
The show starts at 8.30pm and tickets are £9 in advance from the Folly Bar or £10 on the door.
