ENTERTAINMENT, great songs and smooth covers are guaranteed when The Square Brewery welcomes its unofficial ‘house band’ this Sunday.

Seven-piece band BluSoulJazz will perform two sets from 7pm, starting with Cool Jazz and finishing with ‘Covers of Great Songs’.

The band performed five times at the town centre pub in 2018 and are well-known on the local gig scene, with recent performances including an early evening slot at G-Fest and a stint at the Liss Forest Fun Day.

The roots of the band started in 2015 when the original members of a jazz appreciation group got together at The Square Brewery to jam and chat.

After a few changes to the line-up BluSoulJazz was born, with Kevin Taggerty joining as frontman and vocalist in 2017.

Their catalogue of songs continues to grow in variety, but has always centred around strong vocals, guitar and saxophone content.

“I think we’re pretty good and the public should hear that when we perform,” said vocalist and band spokesman, Kevin Taggarty.

“We try to put on a professional show so when people leave they feel like they’ve had a good night.”

He added: “We also want to say what a great pub The Square Brewery is and how much we enjoy playing there.”
