Some green spaces in Petersfield usually mowed during May by East Hampshire District Council contractors Norse South East will be left to grow to help the bees and support local biodiversity.
Where possible, this season these areas will be cut later in the year when flower heads have gone to seed, helping to encourage wildflowers, insects and wildlife.
Council climate change portfolio holder Cllr Robert Mocatta said: “The idea of No Mow May is to let the grass and flowers thrive, and provide increased nectar sources for insects during May.”
