FOLLOWING the Alresford Show, Hampshire Country Sports Day will be held this Sunday, at Tichborne Park.

There will be a full day of ‘have a go’ fun for all the family and arena displays and competitions for lovers of country pursuits.

Highlights include the main arena inter-hunt competition, demonstrations from hunter gatherer Chris Green, and gundog and fishing demonstrations.

There is also a clay pigeon shooting competition with tuition stands, as well as gundog, family fun dog, terrier and lurcher shows.

This year the show has an enlarged and improved fishing area with ten fishing organisations attending with casting competitions, demonstrations and tuition.

Gates open at 9.30am and the main ring events start at 10am. There will be more than 75 trade stands offering everything from handbags to country paintings and craft gifts, plus hunting, shooting and fishing equipment for sale, and a varied choice of food and drink, with a licensed bar.

Admission is £10 for adults and is free for children under 14 and the event will be signposted from Alresford.
