Here’s an important question for you all: What should come first? Cream or jam?

Whatever your preference, both options will be available in a village south of Petersfield next weekend as a church is hosting a tasty fundraiser.

St Mary’s Buriton will hold the first of its regular Cream Tea & Cake afternoons from 2pm next Sunday, June 1.

Further dates for the diary are July 6, August 3 and September 7 with the events complementing their ‘Music at St Mary’s’ programme of free concerts with retiring collection.

“Our now-famous cream teas are a popular event which not only support the church but also the community, as many attend and enjoy a great afternoon,” said a spokesperson for St Mary’s.
