STEEP school summer fete was a sunny success, said headteacher Lou Romans.

She added: “Saturday was a showery day, but it only rained on the fete for the last five minutes.

“It was organised by the Friends of Steep School and was a huge success, a brilliant event with a great atmosphere.

“Everyone pulled together to make it happen, it was a really great school event.”

As well as all the traditional fete stalls and attractions, youngsters and parents could learn juggling and clowning skills, with entertainers from the Top Banana Circus.

There was also live music, a beer tent, archery, a bouncy castle, face painting, a barbecue, and “lots more,” said Mrs Romans.

She added: “Money raised from the fete will go toward improving the school, school trips and paying for things like music lessons and having an artist in residence.”
